Evenings are time when at home we need something to munch on and with kids around , you need to find something that would keep them busy and happy. I had been thinking over this for some time, but did not get the time. Finally I managed to find some time and got it done.
Now I could make this only when my kids are sleeping or else I will have many assistants and would make me go wild. This is a bit time consuming and messy, but for all the effort that you put in, the outcome is just fantastic. My kids just loved it and I made it in a large batch as I know my brother and niece are the other two people who love munching on things like this.
A perfect tea time snack..
Servings – 3-4
All purpose flour – 3 cups
Egg – 1 nos
Milk – 1 cup
Caster Sugar – 1/4 cup and for seasoning
Salt – a pinch
Oil – for deep frying
. Mix all the ingredients together and knead well to make a dough. While mixing, add milk little by little so that you do not over do it.
. The amount of sugar could be adjusted as per your choice. Since we don’t prefer much sugar I had reduced the amount.
. Keep the dough aside for about 1-2 hours.
. Sprinkle some all purpose flour on a working table and knead the dough once again.
. Roll balls from the dough ( approximately the size of a large lemon).
. Flatten the ball using a rolling pin, occasionally sprinkling the all purpose flour so that it does not stick.
. Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, cut small pieces from the flattened dough.
. Deep fry them till light golden brown.
. When at room temperature, sprinkle some caster sugar and munch your lovely evening snack with a cup of hot steaming tea.
