Yam( Chena is what we call in Malayalam, in Kerala) is a not so preferred item in our house. However, as I have mentioned earlier also, my mom is a genius in cooking and she comes up with great varieties. This is one among her hits at home and this time I thought I would give a try….. It is surely a very spicy and tasty chutney, that can be made very easily. After I made this, my son is now a great fan of this chutney. My daughter is constantly running up and down to the kitchen to have this. She just loved it , that she wanted nothing else for her lunch. it really tastes great…..
Today, being a rainy day, I thought I would make something spicy for lunch and when I checked, I had some yam. So thought I would try making this instant recipe what my mom makes and it sure is a great item on a rainy day. You can have this chutney along with hot rice, or even use it as a sandwich filling, if you are in a hurry. two slices of bread, a little mayonnaise and this chutney is a perfect blend for a quick snack.
