It is mango season in Kerala and there are lot many dishes that you could prepare with mangoes. Chutney with raw mangoes is a very common preparation that is seen in almost every house in Kerala. It is very tasty and could be spiced up as to one`s choice. A perfect combination with rice or even could be made as a spread for sandwiches. A little bit tangy and spicy is what this is all about and very very simple.
Raw mangoes – 1/4 to 1/2 cup that is peeled and chopped.
Grated Coconut – 1 cup
Green Chilies – 3-4 nos
Shallots ( small onions ) – 2-3
Ginger – 1/2 inch piece
Salt to taste.
. In a wet grinder, put in all the ingredients.
. Grind well, till all ingredients are mixed well and you get a smooth texture.
. Serve with rice or spread along slices of bread for a quick snack.
Note – Make sure that you do not add water to get a perfect texture, or else it will be too watery.
