As usual, evening snacks are what makes me think the most as I need something to get my kids have when they are back from school, all hungry. Last day, I had nothing left and I was wondering what I could make for my son when he back in the evening. That is when this idea struck me….and there great tasty bread fritters were ready within minutes.
Serves – 3-4
Bread – a loaf, cut into small strips
Gram Flour – 2 cups
Rice Flour – 1/4 cup
Red Chilly powder – 1 tbsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida – a pinch
Oil for frying.
. Cut the bread slices into long strips and keep aside.
.Mix all the other ingredients along with water to make a smooth batter. ( Remember not to make it too watery ).
. Dip the bread strip one by one into this batter and drop them into hot oil for frying.
. Deep Fry them till crispy and serve hot with either tomato sauce or any chutney of your choice.
. Best for an immediate snack.
