Veal is tender meat as it is got from the young ones of cattle. It is good for children and when my daughter was asked to have veal instead of chicken as she was under medication, we switched to veal for some time. This is an easy and simple recipe and very tasty too. Could be used as a side dish or for any kind of fillings too.
Veal – 1 kg
Onions – 1 cup finely diced
Ginger – 1 tbsp finely sliced
Garlic – 2 -3 cloves of medium size, finely diced
Green Chilly – 2 nos
Chilly Powder – 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 – 1 1/2 tbsp
Black Pepper Powder – 1- 1 1/2 tbsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp ( Mixture of Cloves, black peppercorns, cinnamon, cumin seeds, cardamom pods all blend in a grinder to make a powder )
. Tomato Sauce
. Soya Sauce
. Tomato Paste
Coriander Leaves – a bunch
. Cook the meat with all the spices powders along with salt ,added and keep aside.
. In a hot pan, heat oil. Saute the ginger and garlic and then add the onions.
. when onions start turning light brown, add a little bit of garam masala powder, tomato paste, tomato sauce, soya sauce and about 1/2 tsp of coriander powder and mix well. Add a pinch of salt.
. To this add the cooked veal meat and give a good mix.
. Keep it at low flame till all water content gets evaporated.
. Put of the heat and add the coriander leaves and mix.
. Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve hot.
