The other day, I wanted to make something different, yet spicy with the fish I had with me,and that is when suddenly this idea occurred to me. As usual, my way of experimenting ..lo…I was thinking of several ways ways to get it done and finally came up with this idea.When I made it,the outcome was just great. A perfect match with rice or rotis , for sandwich or anything of your choice.
Serves – 3-4
Boneless Fish – 500 gm
Chilly Powder – 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tbsp
Black Pepper – 2 tbsp
Lemon Juice – 1/2 tsp
Onions – 1 1/2 cup finely grated
Tomatoes – 1/2 cup diced
Green bell Pepper – 1/2 cup diced
Ginger – 1/2 tsp finely sliced
Garlic – 3-4 cloves finely sliced
Tomato Sauce – 2-3 tbsp
Soy Sauce – 1 tbsp
Curry Leaves – a few
. Marinate the fish with 1/2 tbsp of chilly powder, turmeric powder, black pepper , salt and lemon juice and set aside for about 1/2 an hour.
. Later, deep fry the fish. While frying be careful that you do not over do it. The fish should be cooked while still being soft. Let is cool.
. Once cooled, tear the fried fish to small pieces with your hands.
. On a hot pan, pour little oil. To the hot oil add the ginger and garlic and saute. Then add the onions and green pepper and saute till onions turn light brown and the peppers are soft. To this add the tomato and saute , till tomatoes get a little soft.
. Add the teared fish, tomato sauce, soy sauce , salt and the remaining black pepper and stir well. Add a touch of water for the mixing to take place well.
. Once the entire contents are mixed well and the water content reduced, add the coriander leaves and curry leaves and take of from flame.
. Serve the way you like it. I used it as a side dish with rice for lunch, and later in the evening with chapattis ( Indian bread).
You could also use as a sandwich filling. Apply mayonnaise to two slices of bread and place this mix as filling, you get delicious sandwich for breakfast or for the evening snack.scrambled fish,
