Pizza is always a favorite for all. However it may not be easy to make it all the time. This simple recipe, does not require much time and is juts a blend of the regular chapatti ( Flat Indian Bread) and some toppings. This is another way of getting kids have some veggies too. The toppings could be made with anything of your choice. Easy, healthy, no need for waiting for the dough to rise and bake… all could be done within no time and good snack for school too. This is one recipe that my son falls for as he is a great lover of pizza and I can get to make him gave all the veggies that I want him to have …lol….
For the Base
Wheat Flour – 2 cups
Oats – 1/2 cup powdered
Salt – as per requirement
Water – as per requirement
For the Topping
Eggs – 2 nos ( this is optional, if you are a pure vegetarian, you could omit this ).
Shredded carrots – 1/4 cup ( optional )
Green bell pepper sliced – 1/2 cup
Tomatoes sliced – 1/2 cup
Salami or any cooked meat shredded – 1 cup ( this could be replaced by shallow fried mushrooms or tofu`s for the veggies )
Tomato Sauce – 1/2 cup
Cheese grated – 1 1/2 cups ( you could use any cheese )
Oregano and Chilly flakes for seasoning.
. Mix the base ingredients in a bowl.Knead well make it into a dough. Make small balls from this dough and flatten using a rolling pin and make a chapatti.
. In another bowl beat the eggs well. To this add the cabbage ,carrots, salt and pepper and beat well. Keep aside.
. On a hot skillet or pan, place the flattened chapatti, on very low flame. Spread a tbsp of sauce first, then spread a tbsp the egg mixture and close with the lid and cook for 2 mins.
. Then add the green peppers, tomatoes, salami and close with a lid and allow to cook for another 2-3 mins.
. Once the peppers are softened, add the grated cheese and close and cook for a few mins.
. Once the cheese melts, by then the base also gets cooked. You get your chapatti pizza ready….
. Serve hot.
A real must try recipe , as one set will be sufficient to keep your hunger at bay.
